COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is honored to announce the NFHCA Hall of Fame Class of 2026 and the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award winner.

This year’s Hall of Fame class includes Ange Bradley, retired head coach at Syracuse University; Jill Cosse, longtime varsity head coach at West Essex High School in New Jersey; Karen Doxey, retired head coach at the Collegiate School in Virginia; and Tina Mattera, head coach at Tufts University.

The late Carol Anderson, owner and president of Penn Monto, is recognized with the 2026 NFHCA Lifetime Achievement Award.

A Winning Class
“On behalf of the Hall of Fame Committee, it is an honor to recognize another exceptional class of inductees,” said Hall of Fame Committee chair and Fairfield University head coach, Laura Gebhart. “Their collective impact extends far beyond wins and championships — they have shaped programs, inspired countless student-athletes and coaches, and elevated the game of field hockey in lasting ways. We are proud to celebrate their remarkable contributions and the legacy they continue to leave on our sport.”

The 2026 class and 27th class overall combines for over 2,000 wins. Collectively, the class boasts three NCAA National Championships, 24 state championships, and over 65 conference championships.

Ange Bradley, current U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team coach whose 26-season collegiate head-coaching career was spent at Syracuse University and the University of Richmond, led the Orange to an NCAA Division I National Championship in 2015. She ranks 11th all-time among Division I coaches with 381 wins and has garnered 19 conference championships, a National Coaching Staff of the Year award, and seven conference-level Coach of the Year recognitions.

Jill Cosse, the longtime varsity head coach at West Essex High School in North Caldwell, New Jersey, reached her 600th win this past season. The milestone win came during West Essex’s 2025 NJSIAA Group 2 State Championship — their 16th with Cosse at the helm. Under Cosse’s leadership, 27 Knights have earned NFHCA All-American honors and 66 All-Region selections.

Recently retired as the field hockey coach and athletic director at the Collegiate School in Richmond, Virginia, Karen Doxey enters the Hall of Fame with 722 wins earned over her 43-year coaching career. A founding board member of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA), Doxey went on to lead her teams to eight VISAA championships and 19 League of Independent Schools titles.

Tina Mattera, current head coach at Tufts University, has 305 wins and two NCAA Division III National Championships under her belt. Over her 21-season career with the Jumbos, Mattera has led her squads to three New England Small Colleges Athletic Conference (NESCAC) titles and 14 NCAA tournament appearances. Among her student-athletes, 28 have earned NFHCA All-American honors and 60 have been named to NFHCA All-Region teams.


Lifetime Achievement
“Few individuals have left a legacy as enduring as Carol Anderson,” said Gebhart. “Her decades of service, innovation, and unwavering commitment to field hockey and women’s athletics helped strengthen our sport at every level, making her a truly deserving recipient of the NFHCA Lifetime Achievement Award.”

The late Carol Anderson — the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award winner — was a key figure in the development of field hockey equipment and a dedicated supporter of women’s sports. As the president of Penn Monto, she was one of the sport’s most dedicated benefactors. While Anderson was a stalwart supporter of the sport’s largest organizations like the NFHCA and USA Field Hockey, she was equally dedicated to supporting youth development across the country through equipment grants and donations.

Anderson was instrumental in the evolution of field hockey balls, as she managed production and distribution of the “Official Ball” dating back to AIAW Field Hockey Championships and continued to provide equipment to the NCAA Championships until her passing earlier this year.

Anderson is the eighth recipient of the NFHCA’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, established in 2018, was created to recognize the achievements of distinguished administrators, umpires, and coaches for their outstanding commitment to the sport of field hockey.


Continued Celebration
The 2026 Hall of Fame class and Lifetime Achievement recipient will be recognized at the NFHCA Awards Dinner, which will take place during the 2027 NFHCA Annual Convention in Lake Mary, Florida on January 14, 2027. The 2026 class will be inducted alongside 2025 Hall of Famer Tracey Fuchs, who deferred her induction by a year to travel as an assistant coach with the USA Women’s National Team during their 2026 New Zealand tour.
