Tim Walsh – Athletic Director
Mr. Walsh is thrilled to be joining the administrative team at West Essex as Athletic Director/Supervisor of Health/PE. Tim Walsh began teaching Special Education Mathematics eleven years ago at Cherokee High School in Marlton, NJ; however, he has been in the West Essex District for the last nine years. Having been deeply involved in the West Essex community as a coach of numerous sports, including Girls Volleyball, Boys Basketball and Baseball, as well as a class advisor, Tim Walsh has had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the dedication, talent and spirit that characterize our students. Mr. Walsh also initiated the Give Kids the World Senior Service Trip at West Essex, which is a life-changing experience for not only the families at the village, but for our students. He has served on numerous school committees including the culture and climate committee, the HIB committee and the high school’s improvement panel. It is with the same passion and commitment that he steps into the role of Athletic Director, eager to foster an environment that nurtures both athletic achievement and academic success.
Growing up in a household where his father served as a Vice Principal and then Athletic Director for numerous years, he was inspired by the dedication, leadership and passion he brought to the role. Watching his father excel in fostering a positive and thriving athletic and academic community made a huge impact on Mr. Walsh and fueled his desire to follow in his father’s footsteps. He always knew that he wanted to get into education, but watching his father and being involved in athletics, he knew that Athletic Director was eventually where he wanted to end up. While being in the classroom and educating students on why mathematics is so important in the real world has been amazing, Mr. Walsh stated that athletics is his passion.
Mr. Walsh is committed to building on the rich traditions and accomplishments of West Essex Regional School District. Our student-athletes will be encouraged not only to excel on the field but also to thrive in the classroom, embodying the true essence of well-rounded education. He is dedicated to providing our coaches with the support and resources they need to foster an environment where every student-athlete can reach their full potential.
